The Frick Collection
Last weekend, the NYC Urban Sketchers met at the Frick Collection. The current exhibitions I saw were, "Murillo: The Self-Portaits"
and "Veronese in Murano: Two Venetian Renaissance Masterpieces Restored". All sketches done without pencil pre-marking. Using the cold press watercolor paper and the Platinum Carbon Ink Fountain pen, I sketched and followed how each painting hang on the wall. Now you just need to rotate the below image.
Here is an impression of a J.M.W. Turner painting "Cologne, the Arrival of a Packet-Boat: Evening" using a Sepia Micron 01 pen.
See the small arch suggesting a hint of the Enamels Room and the West Gallery before it as captured in my sketch from the Oval Room where the Veronese Exhibition is displayed. Straight markings to paper using Pilot Technica Hybrid 003 pen.
