Playing with colors

Think about the possibility of ruining a nice ink sketch by adding some watercolor to it... (I've seen it happen many times, I'm averse to doing it).  Well, as they say, the more you practice the better it gets. So that's what I'm doing here. Practice(3x).

I'm playing with the six colors in my DS Watercolor Essentials set and I very much like the waterproof fountain pen ink!

Tree Sketch Study

Inked on 2/25/2018.  It was a grey day when I tried sketching sketched this tree across from where I parked my car at the RT. 15 Greenwich NB Service Plaza.  So many things to learn just by looking.

Practice Sketches in Ink

Porto Symposium is still several months away but I'm starting to study and warm up my sketching skills in perspective.  A couple of small sketches below from a re-creation of a scene inspired by a recent FB post by Eduardo Bajzek.

Making use of down time.

Well, I couldn't put it off anymore.  The pain over my right shoulder really bothered me the last three nights.  I acquiesced and drove myself to the ER.  After two X-rays were taken, I was sent to a bed and made comfortable with a pillow under my right arm.  That helped me sketched with ease the hallway before me.

There were curious passers-by.  Some admiring the beauty and simplicity of what I was doing.  Words of encouragement from some.  Even terrific wonders expressed considering I can still sketch with a problematic right shoulder.

I'm okay.  No worries.
