My Brommie
I sketched my bike on the way home yesterday because not much interesting commuters on view from where I was seated.

The Green Bicycle
This bicycle was parked right in front of where I was having a quick lunch outdoor. I didn't have time to finish the sketch but it was good enough for a bicycle outline.

The Castle
There is a castle in Port Chester, NY near the train station. I wasn't talking about the recent apartment building that was built across from this castle but the castle itself which I think is now a house of worship. I found a parking spot parallel to the building and there was just enough light to get this sketch done yesterday. I should come back and finish adding more to this sketch.

St. Patrick's Day Parade
The retaining wall by the First Presbyterian Church on Lafayette Pl corner Route 1 provided an elevated view of the parade route coming from the Town Hall area. I wasn't paying attention to the parade participants. Instead, the throng of crowds lining up the street on both sides was captured in my sketch. Watercolor added later at home.

Commuter Sketch Series 6
I sketched this man on the right on the commute back home, being careful not to get caught looking and observing him because he was seated directly in front of me. The backpack on my lap was my shield from sketching him.

A day at the Bronx Zoo: Part II
The Zoo Center building sketch may have been the highlight of this zoo visit. Just as I was dabbing the water brush on the highlights, a group of students came my way. Several asked how long I've been drawing, how long it took me to sketch this building, do I have an Instagram feed, etc.

A day at the Bronx Zoo: Part I
I visited the Bronx Zoo today, Wednesday, because it's a free entrance day at the zoo. I made some pencil sketches of the Seals basking in the sun, some birds in the Birds of Prey exhibit, some deer, some bisons, the giraffes.

The tree at the Grass Island Park
Another tree sketch. This one at the Grass Island Park. Maybe a bit cold yesterday with the car windows open, it hindered the Zebra ballpen ink flow. Surprisingly, the pencil worked really well with this paper. I like it!

I like the graphite pencil on this paper. |

A Sycamore Tree
I noticed the long shadow on this sycamore tree trunk. One good reason to sketch a tree on a bright, sunny and beautiful spring-like day.

People-watching at lunch time
I beat the throng of lunch goers at Digg Inn. Instead, I was sketching their back profiles from where I was seated. There were a few seated guests that I discreetly sketched, too. This is in preparation for the "one week 100 people sketch" challenge first week in April. Also, it's a study in hand gestures.

The Quartet
Although undated, it could have been from the year 2015. A quartet performance we saw by chance while exploring the Greenwich Village in the city. Then experimented with watercolor which was a bit intimidating. It still is these days.

Our Dog
She was a happy camper after our afternoon walk. It took time to get her settled. Not happy with that freebie ballpoint pen. The ink wouldn't flow freely!

Sunday at The MET: Part III
I wanted to see a bird's eye-view of the Arms and Armor court. The guard pointed me to the Gallery 680, Musical Instruments Wing balcony. Wish fulfilled. Hey, I'm liking this bird's eye-view sketching style! At home, I imported the photo and played around with it on the iPad Pro/Procreate before using the colored Bic pens. Which one do you like?
