Sketching on the go
There was the usual wait at a local Target store pickup counter for an item we ordered on line. I took this opportunity to practice gesture sketches.

Sketching on the run
Last Saturday, the wait line was already deep when we arrived at HMart in Hartsdale, NY. This allowed me to get a good look at these two men ahead of us in line. As we got closer to the entrance, a group of three ladies became visible so I added them in and noted color descriptions to help remind me of the scene. Once inside the store, I managed to do one quick sketch of a staff restocking the chicken supply shelves.

Grocery Run
On our last grocery run, I anticipated this lady unloading the grocery cart. The process was quick so the hands/head placement was the first priority to get a somewhat acceptable gesture. Later at home, I added the black gouache color to fill-in the scene.

On the fly sketching
While waiting for a curbside pickup of an item I ordered online at Best Buy, Norwalk, CT I managed to have a good look at this Honda Hatchback. Lines were done on-site. I decided to add the WC splash one day later at home. Just having fun with color.

Disruption
Three months into the new year, of the new decade, and the world has succumbed to the COVID-19 pandemic. Everybody's lives got upended so suddenly. Some people lost a loved one or two, some even more. Sad. Millions on unemployment stats. Economy in shambles looking like the Depression Era numbers. Reported news are scary, confusing rather than provide clarity of information. I try not to fully engage in the news save for my sanity. What a strange time we're living in now.
I haven't blogged since December of last year. Just didn't have the urge to do it during the normal times. Now, I don't know what "normal" means anymore after this COVID-19.
One thing is for sure, I'll keep drawing what my eyes see, one day at a time.
