The sturdy washing machine my parents had for decades finally quit working. As a result, I had a quick lesson in doing laundry at a "lavanderia" in Spain. Steps: 1.) Open the front loading drum and insert your laundry. 2.) Close the door. 3.) Insert your coins for payment. 4.) Choose the wash cycle 5.) Press the start button. Did you think I miss a crucial step like adding the laundry soap? Well, I did not and am happy to report that laundry soap is included, gratis. Oh, and the laundry smells fresh, too. While waiting for the 28 minutes of wash cycle, I sketched the scene outside of the "lavanderia". Two days later, I had to come back early in the morning and sketched the other half of the scene.

Even when you are away from home you need to do those everyday things. I always thought a laundromat should have a bar to make the time pass easily. lol I have found out from personal experience that sketching at a laundromat works too.
