A Day at Muscoot Farm Park
Saturday's warm weather in the mid-50's brought us out to the Muscoot Farm Park in Katonah, NY. Our original intention was to hike some trails and have a lunch picnic. We got there past midday but found the general surrounding to be wet and soggy, the trails muddy and icy in most spots. We cancelled our hiking plans and just enjoyed our picnic. Other young families come and go to view the farm animals. Lots of young kids enjoy this mild winter day at the farm. They gathered by the farm tractor, a popular picture spot. I trained my observation on this scene and sketched two versions, the second being a return to the graphic big brush style.

Both of these are great! Nice poses on the people...and no trains. lol Does your red pen cover the black or did you do that area in white first? Sorry the trails were muddy. I guess they are in shade and don't get to dry out quickly. I'm surprised when I go somewhere and still find patches of snow...like at the beach.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and asking the question, Joan. I usually look for pockets of whites to work on and add bright colors which usually don't show well against black. If I really need some white, then I mask that black area with white jelly pen before glossing over it with color.
