My portable sketch easel version 4, inspired by James Gurney's design, is still a work-in-progress.
Here's the list of materials I used in making the portable sketch easel (version 4).
1 piece - Poplar Hobby Board (1/4" x 6" x 4')
1 piece - Flat Bar Aluminum (3/4" x 1/8" x 36")
1 piece - Item 2511, T-Nut Brad Hole (1/4-20 x 5/16" x 3/4")
2 pieces - Item 3827, Aluminum Screw Posts (3/8" L)
2 pieces - Southco E6-10-301-20 Series Adjustable Torque Position Control Hinge with Holes, Acetal Copolymer, 1.69" Leaf Height, 6.99 in-lbf Symmetric Torque, Black
8 pieces - Item 1040, Thread Cutter Slotted Pan Head (6-32 x 3/8")
8 pieces - Sheet Metal Type A Self-Tapping Screws, (#6 x 1/2")
8 pieces - Item 857, Capnut Nickel Plated Brass, (6-32)
1 piece - Magnetic card size with adhesive back
I'm only providing you the list of materials, not the step by step how to instructions. Something tells me to stay away from the instructional series - a disclaimer don't try this at home. You'll find most of these materials at a hardware store except for the hinge which I ordered online.
