Third Week of July 2018: Part II

Friday, July 20

It was 9:00am, the usual start-your-day announcements made inside the Alfandega hub followed by the search for your workshop group placard.  It was easy to get lost in the sea of participants locating their workshop placard# just outside of the Alfandega do Porto Centro de Congressos.

After my second workshop, Alan (from NYC USk group) and I visited the Sao Francisco Church.  Managed to sketch the altar before doing a LOT of walking.  Ask him how he many steps he logged that day.

The baroque altar being restored. No pictures allowed.

Together, Anne, Alan and I followed the Google Maps GPS shortest route to get to the Graham's Port Lodge for the Port Wine Tasting Tour.  Little did we know that that GoogleMap road trek would take us to decrepit alley ways and unused roads, some littered with broken glasses and trash.  It was like the "Road to Mordor" as we joked about it.  Finally, a sign of civilization and we barely made the 5:30pm tour appointment!

Last part of the tour:  Tasting the Ruby, and Tawny Port Wines.

The Ruby Port Wines

A happy trio
